# Update App

PATCH https://api.taktoria.com/api/v1/apps/{appSlug}
Content-Type: application/json

Change how this workspace handles one app. Requires the `apps:write`
scope. Returns the app as `listApps` describes it.

Reference: https://docs.taktoria.com/api-reference/platform/update-app

## Authentication

- `Authorization` header (bearer token, required) — Bearer authentication of the form `Bearer <token>`, where token is your auth token.

## Servers

- `https://api.taktoria.com/api/v1` (Production, default)
- `http://localhost:3000/api/v1` (Local)

## Request

### Path parameters

- `appSlug` (string, required)

### Body (application/json)

This endpoint expects an UpdateAppRequest.

- `newMembersGetSeat` (boolean, optional) — Give people who join a seat on this app. Changes nobody's seats today. Turned off, the app's waiting list is emptied: nobody is waiting for a seat they would not be given.

## Response

### 200

- `slug` (string, required)
- `name` (string, required)
- `tagline` (string, required)
- `status` (enum, required)
  - Allowed values: `available`, `coming_soon`
- `unitAmount` (integer, required) — Monthly list price in the smallest currency unit, per unit of whatever `billing` charges on.
- `currency` (string, required)
- `billing` (enum, required) — What an app's price is charged on.
  - Allowed values: `per_seat`, `per_participant`
- `minUnits` (integer, required) — The fewest units a workspace may subscribe for. A smaller quantity is not a cheaper plan: it is billed at this number.
- `seatsAssigned` (integer, required)
- `newMembersGetSeat` (boolean, required) — Whether somebody who joins the workspace (by invitation, SSO or its email domain) gets a seat on this app the first time they open it. On unless a workspace admin turned it off. Dory's seat is who may create and run events.
- `hostSeatPrice` (integer, optional) — Dory only: the monthly price of one host seat, in the smallest currency unit, billed beside the per-participant price.
- `subscription` (AppSubscription, optional)
- `seatCap` (integer, optional) — The most seats that can be handed out before `grantSeat` answers `409 seat_limit_reached`: the seats a per-seat app pays for, or Dory's host seats once they are billed. Absent when nothing caps them, which is Dory's hosts while they are free. Use this rather than `subscription.seatLimit`, which for Dory is its event capacity. A new member's own default seat is not held to it while auto-join and `autoGrowSeats` are on: the cap rises for them instead.

## Errors

### 401 Unauthorized Error

- `error` (ErrorDetail, required)

### 403 Forbidden Error

Refused, and `error.code` says why. On an app's write endpoints, a signed-in session is refused `viewer_only` when the person is a Viewer of the app (they read it, and change nothing in it), and `seat_required` without a seat on it; a key is never either. Beyond those: `admin_required` when the change is an admin's (an app admin's for an app's admin powers, a workspace admin's for the workspace's settings), `forbidden` when the person may not change this one thing, `read_only_session` for a change only a key makes, `person_required` for what only a signed-in person does through their own account elsewhere (exporting a LaunchCal artifact to their docs tool), which a key cannot, `insufficient_scope` for a key without the scope, and `google_sign_in_required` for a session the workspace's Google rule turns away. Nothing was done.

- `error` (ErrorDetail, required)

### 404 Not Found Error

- `error` (ErrorDetail, required)

### 429 Too Many Requests Error

Rate limited (`rate_limited`): the key, the signed-in person, the workspace or an expensive endpoint's own budget is used up for now. `Retry-After` says how many seconds to wait, and `details` names the `policy`, its `limit`, `windowSeconds` and `retryAfter`. Every answer to an authenticated request carries the IETF `RateLimit-Policy` and `RateLimit` headers, so a client can slow down before it gets this. Nothing was done; wait and send it again. See "Rate limits".

- `error` (ErrorDetail, required)

## Types

### AppSubscription

- `status` (enum, required)
  - Allowed values: `TRIALING`, `ACTIVE`, `PAST_DUE`, `CANCELED`, `INCOMPLETE`, `INCOMPLETE_EXPIRED`, `UNPAID`, `PAUSED`
- `quantity` (integer, required) — Seats currently billed by Stripe. For Dory, the participant capacity of one event.
- `billingInterval` (enum, required) — How often the subscription is billed. Every line of one subscription shares it.
  - Allowed values: `month`, `year`
- `cancelAtPeriodEnd` (boolean, required)
- `seatLimit` (integer, optional)
- `hostSeats` (integer, optional) — Dory only: the host seats paid for, on their own line beside the participants. Absent while Dory seats are free.
- `currentPeriodEnd` (datetime, optional)
- `trialEndsAt` (datetime, optional) — When a trial ends. Whether it carries on into the paid plan, a card being on file, is `cardAddedAt` on `GET /subscription`.

### ErrorDetail

- `code` (string, required) — A stable machine-readable code such as `not_found`.
- `message` (string, required)
- `details` (any, optional)
