# Search

GET https://api.taktoria.com/api/v1/search

Everything in one app that matches `q`, grouped by kind: what the
app's top bar search shows. Matching is the list endpoints' `q`
(every word in some field, case and accents ignored, at most 100
characters and 8 words; see Searching under Errors and pagination),
and each group finds only what its list would show the caller: a
signed-in person never finds a private objective they may not see,
an event they may not run, a question on one, or a draft link's
destination they may not edit. A key speaks for the workspace.

Each group needs its list's read scope (see `SearchGroupType`); the
groups the caller cannot read are left out, and a caller who can read
none of the app's is refused with `403 insufficient_scope`, naming
the scopes in `details.scopes`. A signed-in person needs a seat on the
app (`403 seat_required`). Each group counts every match and returns
the first five.

## Authentication

- `Authorization` header (bearer token, required) — Bearer authentication of the form `Bearer <token>`, where token is your auth token.

## Servers

- `https://api.taktoria.com/api/v1` (Production, default)
- `http://localhost:3000/api/v1` (Local)

## Request

### Query parameters

- `app` (enum, required) — The app to search. Missing or unknown, `400 invalid_app`.
  - Allowed values: `launchcal`, `okrhub`, `dory`, `golinks`, `memegen`
- `q` (string, optional) — What to find. Every word must appear in one of a thing's fields; case and accents are ignored; at most 100 characters and 8 words. Left out or blank, every group comes back empty.

## Response

### 200

- `app` (enum, required) — The app to search, by its slug.
  - Allowed values: `launchcal`, `okrhub`, `dory`, `golinks`, `memegen`
- `query` (string, required) — The query as searched, trimmed and cut to 100 characters.
- `groups` (list of SearchGroup, required) — The app's groups, in order, each the caller's scopes can read. A group with nothing in it is still listed, with `total` 0.

## Errors

### 400 Bad Request Error

The request is well formed but asks for something that cannot be done.

- `error` (ErrorDetail, required)

### 401 Unauthorized Error

- `error` (ErrorDetail, required)

### 402 Subscription Required Error

The organization has no subscription for the app that lets it in: active, trialing or past due. One that is unpaid (Stripe stopped retrying a failed payment), paused, incomplete or cancelled answers this too, and the message says which: an unpaid app is locked until a workspace admin updates the payment details. `details.status` is the app's subscription status (null with none), and `details.paymentIssue` is `unpaid`, or `payment_failed` for an incomplete one whose first payment failed, as `paymentIssue` on `GET /subscription` reckons it; null when a payment is not why.

- `error` (ErrorDetail, required)

### 403 Forbidden Error

Refused, and `error.code` says why. On an app's write endpoints, a signed-in session is refused `viewer_only` when the person is a Viewer of the app (they read it, and change nothing in it), and `seat_required` without a seat on it; a key is never either. Beyond those: `admin_required` when the change is an admin's (an app admin's for an app's admin powers, a workspace admin's for the workspace's settings), `forbidden` when the person may not change this one thing, `read_only_session` for a change only a key makes, `person_required` for what only a signed-in person does through their own account elsewhere (exporting a LaunchCal artifact to their docs tool), which a key cannot, `insufficient_scope` for a key without the scope, and `google_sign_in_required` for a session the workspace's Google rule turns away. Nothing was done.

- `error` (ErrorDetail, required)

### 429 Too Many Requests Error

Rate limited (`rate_limited`): the key, the signed-in person, the workspace or an expensive endpoint's own budget is used up for now. `Retry-After` says how many seconds to wait, and `details` names the `policy`, its `limit`, `windowSeconds` and `retryAfter`. Every answer to an authenticated request carries the IETF `RateLimit-Policy` and `RateLimit` headers, so a client can slow down before it gets this. Nothing was done; wait and send it again. See "Rate limits".

- `error` (ErrorDetail, required)

## Types

### SearchGroup

- `type` (enum, required) — A kind of thing an app's search finds, and the read scope it needs: `launches` (`launches:read`) and `steps` (`steps:read`) in LaunchCal; `objectives` (`objectives:read`), `keyResults` (`keyResults:read`) and `teams` (`teams:read`) in OKR Hub; `events` (`events:read`) and `questions` (`questions:read`) in Dory; `links` (`golinks:read`) in Go Links; `memes` (`memes:read`) and `templates` (`memeTemplates:read`) in Memegen.
  - Allowed values: `launches`, `steps`, `objectives`, `keyResults`, `teams`, `events`, `questions`, `links`, `memes`, `templates`
- `total` (integer, required) — How many match in all; `items` holds the first five.
- `items` (list of SearchResult, required)

### ErrorDetail

- `code` (string, required) — A stable machine-readable code such as `not_found`.
- `message` (string, required)
- `details` (any, optional)

### SearchResult

One thing found, told apart by `type`.

- `type`: `launch`
  - `draft` (boolean, required)
  - `id` (string, required)
  - `name` (string, required)
  - `status` (enum, required) — Where a launch sits in its lifecycle.

  - `plannedLaunchDate` (datetime, optional)
- `type`: `step`
  - `id` (string, required)
  - `launch` (SearchParent, required)
  - `name` (string, required)
  - `status` (enum, required) — The approval bit on a single launch step.

  - `title` (string, required)
  - `year` (integer, required)
  - `quarter` (integer, optional)

- `type`: `event`
  - `code` (string, required)
  - `id` (string, required)
  - `phase` (enum, required) — Where the event stands right now, from its times first: it opens at the earlier of `startsAt` and `questionsOpenAt`, and ends at the later of `endsAt` and `questionsCloseAt`, with nobody having to start it.
    - Allowed values: `draft`, `scheduled`, `live`, `ended`
  - `title` (string, required)
  - `startsAt` (datetime, optional)

  - `captions` (list of string, required) — One per caption box, empty ones left out.
  - `id` (string, required)
  - `template` (SearchParent, required)
